In Remembrance: “Dear Grandpa…”

Every year, I pull up this photo and I read the letter to “grandad” left at a cenotaph on Remembrance Day many years ago.  And every year, I reflect, and am grateful for all those nameless and faceless grandpas that fought for our freedoms.  And to all those unknown sons who sacrificed their lives, who never got the chance to meet their unborn sons and daughters … We remember.  We will not forget.

“To Grandad and all his comrades in gratitude and remembrance”.
